Senior Android Developer (Kotlin + Compose) — Senior (5+ Years)

Responsibilities

  • Own technical direction for Android: architecture, modularization strategy, and engineering standards.
  • Lead delivery of complex features end-to-end, balancing UX, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Design scalable state management and UI architecture with Compose (including multi-module setups).
  • Establish performance and reliability practices: baseline profiles, macrobenchmarks, crash/ANR monitoring.
  • Mentor engineers via pairing, reviews, and technical guidance; improve team velocity and quality.
  • Drive testing strategy (unit/integration/UI), CI/CD pipelines, and release practices (Play Console, app bundles).
  • Collaborate with backend/product to improve API contracts, observability, and offline/resilience patterns.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building and shipping Android apps in production with Kotlin.
  • Strong experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android architecture patterns.
  • Deep understanding of performance, memory, battery, and startup optimization techniques.
  • Experience leading code quality initiatives: modularization, testing strategy, CI/CD, release hygiene.
  • Strong communication and ownership mindset; comfortable leading technical discussions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with KMP (Kotlin Multiplatform) or multi-platform architecture decisions.
  • Experience with app security and anti-fraud measures (Play Integrity API, secure networking, hardening).
  • Experience building design systems with Compose and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience with GraphQL, offline sync, and caching strategies at scale.
  • Experience with on-device AI/ML integrations (ML Kit, TensorFlow Lite) where applicable.
